- Christmas Bird Count
Join the National Audubon Society Christmas Bird Count as we search for birds on and off-trail.
Dress for the weather, including cold and windy conditions. This annual bird count is part of the O'Shaunessey Circle Christmas Bird Count. Glacier Ridge is just one team counting birds that day. Bird data collected on our count is added to the international database to help researchers understand bird population trends. For more information on other bird count locations, please contact Columbus Audubon Website http://www.columbusaudubon.org.
Please bring binoculars and field guides. Both new and experienced birders are welcome. Count includes both on and off-trail portions of the park. Participants will be broken into teams and each team explores a different area of the park. After the birds have been counted on the trail, all participants meet back and the maintenance shop to review data collected.
If you have questions, please contact Chrissy Hoff, Glacier Ridge/Homestead Metro Park Naturalist at (614) 971-5211 or email@example.com.
